mine are running around the house.
Ha ha! In decorating magazines, I always wonder where's the trash can? The mail from that day? The keys? The coats and gloves and dog leashes? The pile of stuff that has to go out to the car for the next round of errands? *Sigh.* Magazine people don't live like the rest of us, I guess.
Would you LOOK at that little chunky Monkey!!Merry 2012!
*laugh* Yeah I stopped posting on my blog after Kirsten was born and a bit before as I was getting ready. I can handle the food and the decorating (she sleeps eventually), but the blogging... not so much... maybe if I didn't mull things over so much. This is going to sound horrible, but I haven't read an adult book that wasn't a baby instruction manual of sorts since she was born either... Jamberry (memorized), The Quiet Book (memorized), My Big Girl Potty (almost memorized)... I'm sure you see where this is going... but my hubby bought me your book for Christmas (it was at the top of my Christmas list with a big *hint hint* next to it). I started reading it last night at hmmmm almost midnight (Really I should know better!!!) and came so close to finishing it this morning before Kirsten woke up and demanded (well sorta, crying counts) a new diaper, milk and something to eat. Hubby is taking her to hockey with him tonight, so I'll curl up with it, hot chocolate and some cookies to finish it. It has had me laughing and crying so far... Amazing Liz! I really am so happy for you, I'll do my best to get it in the hands of every woman I know somehow :)
Thank you so much Barbara! I'm thrilled that you're liking it so far!!! And tell your husband "thanks" from me for taking your hint. :)
You are welcome... I read him a few snippets out of your prologue last night to illustrate "this is why I wanted this book" his comment was "sounds like you wrote that"... kindred spirits I tell you :D
yep, thats where they are. in a year or two, you hand her a scrap piece from your craft or an empty bowl and spoon to keep her busy while you work or blog.
And they grow up, and the babbling turns to, MAMA, I HELP? MAMA! MAMAAAAAA! I HEEEEELLLLLPPPP?And then your creativity gets put to new use as you try & find safe tasks for your little monkey (or peanut, or sugar-booger, as I call my little darling) to assist you with. And finding ways in which they can participate with you, or designating household tasks that they can be in charge of (loading the not-sharp silverware into the dishwasher, for example) is a far better alternative than saying, Honey, go play with the dog.Not that you would, but you get my point ;)Totally stating the obvious, but motherhood will challenge you in new ways.... every. single. day. :)
Jane is such a cutie! Happy New Year!!!
LOL! Ta-da! Happy New Year.
I love that bureau in the background of your picture. I have some vintage turquoise doilies if you want them I will send them to you.
